Description

The Multiplus Super Etch Primer is a versatile coating formulated for use as either a primer or a conventional etch medium when applied in mist coats. It is designed to provide excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance on a wide range of metal substrates. When used as a primer, it promotes adhesion between the substrate and the topcoat to support a durable and long lasting finish. When applied as an etch medium, it prepares the surface by creating a strong and stable base for subsequent coatings.

This product is suitable for iron, steel, stainless steel, galvanized iron, aluminium, brass, and copper, as well as for repainting solvent resistant surfaces and sanded original or old paintwork. Proper surface preparation includes removal of rust and loose material from mild steel, abrasion of non ferrous metals, stainless steel and galvanized iron, and mechanical sanding of suitable previous coatings with P220 to P240 grit. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from contamination before application. It may be recoated with Valspar R Cure or Valgard primers and Valspar R Cure, Valthane, Multi Plus, or Duraspar topcoats.

Substrates:	Iron, steel, stainless steel, galvanized iron, aluminium, brass, copper. Repainting of solvent resistant surfaces, sanded original and old paintwork.
Preparation:	Mild Steel – Remove all rust and any loose material by wire brush or mechanical sander. Non-ferrous metals, stainless steel and galvanized iron – Abrade using Scotch-Brite® pad or wet and dry sand paper. Suitable previous coat – Mechanically sand with P220 – 240 grit sandpaper.
Cleaning:	Surface must be dry and free from any contamination, e.g. oil, grease, release agents. Degrease with metal cleaner, solvent-thinner, silicon remover or industrial cleaners.
Recoating:	May be recoated with Valspar R-Cure / Valgard primers and/or Valspar R-Cure / Valthane / Multi Plus / Duraspar topcoats.
